Vision

From January to August 2022, the elders and staff at First Christian spent many hours praying, listening for God's direction, and working together toward a vision of where we believe God is leading us over the coming years.

We shared it in our services on Sunday, September 11. If you didn't catch it, we'd encourage you watch through our teaching time!

Vision Statement

In the next 5 years we will actively and intentionally pursue Jesus together, cultivating the God-given gifts in each of us, empowered by the Spirit to transform lives with the hope of Jesus.

Building on our rich history and united in our pursuit of God’s mission within our church and the surrounding areas, we have a sense of urgency for the spiritual formation of our church and community. Our desire is to see every man, woman, and child who is a part of First Christian formed into the image of Jesus for the benefit of the more than 100,000 broken and hurting people in our communities.

As a regional church, our desire is to see every community we have represented at First Christian have servant-oriented Christ-following individuals, families, and small groups throughout Pottawattamie, Mills, Fremont counties and beyond. As each of us discovers our unique God-given gifts, we will be empowered to make a difference for the kingdom, and to sow seeds of love through daily conversation and tangible expressions of care. As a result, people will come to know and trust Jesus and discover the abundance a life in him produces.

Through our partnership with individuals, churches, organizations, schools, first responders, and non-profits we will see families stay together, children thrive, poverty reduced, and communities renewed. We will encourage and equip mission-minded people to identify and meet local and global needs with the hope of Jesus.
